PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Axway, the Business Interaction Networks company, has enhanced its Validation Authority Suite to further smooth the process of validating employee credentials in sensitive environments, including civilian government agencies. Grounded in the Server-based Certificate Validation Protocol (SCVP), the offering introduces the capability to both authenticate and authorize end-users or applications, in the context of protecting access to sensitive information, based on predefined rules.

The U.S. government mandates that Federal employees and contractors with access to Federal facilities and information systems have authorizing credentials. In particular, Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) requires a unified security process governing access to all Federal facilities and information systems. This is the impetus behind the roll out of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards to all Federal employees and contractors.

To meet this need, Axway’s Validation Authority Suite is a standards-based solution that allows agencies to validate PIV credentials, regardless of where they are issued. This is critical to ensuring the applicability of PIV-based authentication/authorization credentials across multiple agencies, including those who host their own internal Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs).
