SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--()--Sparkplug Communications, a provider of wireless business broadband voice and data services based in Scottsdale, Ariz., today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Phoenix-area business assets from MetroBridge Networks, including all customer contracts, network infrastructure and related assets. The closing comes five weeks after the May 21st, 2010 announcement of the acquisition agreement.
“The transition is moving forward seamlessly as we support and enhance service for our new MetroBridge customers.”
"We selected MetroBridge because it was perfectly positioned to support our growth into Mesa and South Phoenix, and we are very pleased that the transaction was able to close so quickly. This significantly enhances our broadband coverage in that part of the Valley and provides immediate cash flow to Sparkplug," said CEO Michael Ruley. "The transition is moving forward seamlessly as we support and enhance service for our new MetroBridge customers."
Sparkplug will integrate MetroBridge Networks' wireless broadband internet assets into their Scottsdale corporate office, and all MetroBridge customers will be transitioned over to the Sparkplug product line. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Sparkplug is one of the only dedicated broadband providers in Arizona to have a privately owned last mile, where over 90% of landline/cable downtime has traditionally occurred. Combined with their totally diverse path of independent networks, they are one of the first providers in Arizona to have virtually eliminated voice and data outages - saving hundreds of thousands of dollars for businesses whose income relies on 100% up time.
