WILLOW GROVE, Pa.--()--NMS Labs continues to offer new innovative tests for suspected Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) with the most recent addition of phthalate metabolites. Phthalates have generated concern as potential “endocrine disruptors,” that is, compounds capable of interfering with normal and developing endocrine function. Tests for MNMPB (Mono-n-butyl), MEHP (mono-ethylhexl), MEHHP (mono-(2-ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl)), and MEOHP (mono-(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl)) are being performed at NMS Labs and complements its Bisphenol-A (BPA) test.
“If the suspicion is there, then there is a need to test for these chemicals. So we [NMS Labs] saw the need to develop and offer tests for phthalate metabolites”
“If the suspicion is there, then there is a need to test for these chemicals. So we [NMS Labs] saw the need to develop and offer tests for phthalate metabolites,” explains NMS Labs CEO Eric Rieders, PhD.
These tests are ideally suited to medical researchers, reference labs, as well as health care, occupational and environmental medicine practitioners to accurately measure phthalates in their patients. NMS Labs provides these tests that are guided by highly skilled toxicologists who continue to monitor EDC research and the potential benefit of testing.
