The José Martí Awards for Excellence in Hispanic Print represent the most prestigious Hispanic media awards in the nation and are selected by a panel of expert judges from the field of media and publishing. The awards were presented at the 25th annual convention of the NAHP in New Mexico, March 10-14, 2010.

ImpreMedia’s Chicago-based weekly, La Raza (www.laraza.com), topped the list with most awards to a single publication including “Best Design” for a weekly and “Outstanding Lifestyle” and “Outstanding Entertainment” sections. In addition to the premier award given to La Opinión (www.laopinion.com) for “Outstanding Hispanic Daily Newspaper,” the publication took a total of five first places including “Best Entertainment Section,” “Best Sports Section” and “Best Special Section” for the Obama Inauguration. El Mensajero (www.elmensajero.com) of San Francisco also won seven awards for articles published on politics, business and Hispanic success stories.
