NYISO Hosts Symposium on the Future of the Grid

April 27 Event to Focus on Making the Grid Smarter, Cleaner and Greener

RENSSELAER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) will host a symposium, Planning the Sustainable Grid of the Future, on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany, N.Y. The conference will bring together experts from across the country to discuss critical issues in electric energy and grid reliability.

Panel discussions at the symposium will feature energy, planning and environmental experts, and will focus on:

• Development of broader regional markets for wholesale electricity
• The electric industry and the carbon constrained economy
• Enhanced interregional planning for the electric system and integration of clean and renewable energy resources
