IRVINE, Calif.--()--DRI Energy today officially commemorated the completion of the largest solar system in the city of Anaheim. DRI Energy designed and installed a 500kW system for SA Recycling, a world leader in the metal recycling and processing industry. At SA Recycling Headquarters a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with a key-note speech by Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle.
“And SA Recycling’s commitment to core issues such as safety and quality make them a perfect client for us.”
DRI Energy, a leading solar integrator, with industry leading-practices in solar construction and safety, completed the job in record time. DRI Energy employed 20 full-time local crew members for the project. SA Recycling demonstrated their commitment to safety by permanently installing WhirlieBird™, DRI’s proprietary personal fall arrest system on the top of the structure.
“We are very pleased with our choice to work with DRI Energy on this project. Their professionalism and expertise made this project a great experience.”, said Terry Adams, Executive Vice President of SA Recycling. “They did an outstanding job and we are very pleased with our system.”
“We are proud to work with a company that has environmental stewardship in their DNA”, said Steve Kelley, Executive Vice President of DRI Energy. “And SA Recycling’s commitment to core issues such as safety and quality make them a perfect client for us.”
The solar array is expected to produce more than 715,000 kWh annually, generating the equivalent amount of electricity to power 120 houses for a year and reduce CO2 emissions by over 1,000,000 lbs annually.
The project received support from the Anaheim Solar Advantage program which is part of the California Solar Initiative (CSI). Anaheim’s utility is providing an estimated $1.2 million performance incentive based on actual production of the solar system, which is to be paid over the first five years of production.
SA Recycling is a world leader in the metal recycling and processing industry, and that leadership includes their ongoing advances in safety and technology. As one of the original ‘green’ companies--recyclers like SA have been helping to save energy since the industry was started.
