RAPID CITY, S.D.--()--National American University (“NAU”) , which is a wholly owned subsidiary of National American University Holdings, Inc. (the “Company”) (OTCBB: NAUH), today announced that it has been approved by the South Dakota Board of Nursing to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program in South Dakota. The BSN program will be offered at the Rapid City and Sioux Falls campuses beginning in the spring quarter, which starts on March 10th.
The BSN program is a full-time, four-year program. The program includes a foundational core of general education courses that students will take beginning in the spring quarter and progresses into clinical nursing core studies. The BSN Program will accept a total of 24 cohorts (students) per year, 16 at the Rapid City campus and eight at the Sioux Falls campus.
Julia Bronner, Dean of the School of Nursing at National American University said, “We are pleased to be able to offer a BSN program at our Rapid City and Sioux Falls campuses, which we feel responds to the rising shortage for bachelor-prepared registered nurses in South Dakota and across the U.S. Given the current demand for qualified nurses and nurse educators throughout the United States, we feel that this is a market that will continue to grow and expand. This is an opportunity for NAU to continue our commitment to meeting the needs of the local healthcare industry and the people of South Dakota.”
National American University currently offers the BSN program at the Bloomington, Minnesota, campus. NAU also has other nursing programs in Denver, Colorado, and at the Overland Park and Zona Rosa campuses, located in the Kansas City metro area. In addition, NAU offers an Online RN-to-BSN bachelor’s degree completion program and the new Master of Science in Nursing graduate program through its distance learning delivery model.
