BOSTON--()--CheapToday, Inc., the Online Shopping Network specializing in publishing quality deals from high profile brands, today announced the latest results from its 'Just Wondering' survey of buying trends for Power Moms.
“Which of the 3 Choices below best describes the amount of holiday shopping that you will do online this year?”
CheapToday regularly surveys its Power Mom subscribers to monitor their buying behavior, attitudes, and trends. Power Moms were asked, “Which of the 3 Choices below best describes the amount of holiday shopping that you will do online this year?”
a) I do most of my shopping online (over 70% online)
b) I do a mix between online and in-store shopping (between 30%-70% online)
c) I do most of my shopping in-store (less than 30% done online)
201 CheapToday Power Moms responded and the results were as follows:
42% responded that they will do a mix of online and in-store purchases (30%-70% online) this holiday season. The decision to buy online or offline is highly dependent on the purchase. Women will buy online for certain goods but for items such as clothing and accessories, most prefer the in-store experience.
34% responded that they do most of their holiday shopping online (over 70%). These shoppers cited the convenience of online access, the availability of online-only deals, and the savings in time and expense from not traveling as their primary motivations for shopping online.
24% responded that they do most of their holiday shopping in-store (less than 30% done online). These shoppers cited the ability to handle items before purchasing as their primary reason for preferring the in-store experience.
“It’s interesting to see the evolution of in-store and online purchasing behavior with this important market segment and, although clearly the trend is towards online, there remains an important role for the in-store shopping experience” said Chris Hill, President & CEO of CheapToday, Inc.
