Nyack Hospital Emergency Department Wins Quality Award for Exceptional Emergency Department Performance

LIVINGSTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Emergency Medical Associates is pleased to announce that Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Department has won the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System’s Annual Quality Symposium Award for the second year in a row. The Emergency Department received last year’s award for their “Code H” project. Nyack Hospital's submission, "Change in Triage Process Using Lean Methodology," described the use of LEAN tools and the positive impact that the implementation of a 30 Minute Service Standard had in significantly reducing ED waiting time, virtually eliminating the percentage of patients left without being seen, and improving patient satisfaction in the Hospital’s Emergency Department. The Quality Symposium Award recognizes an organization's commitment to quality innovation in patient care. Winners are selected from a large number of entries evaluated by a panel of judges from NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System, Healthcare Association of New York State, the Greater New York Hospital Association, the New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians, and the Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association. Out of 67 received submissions, 25 entrants were chosen to present posters and Nyack Hospital was the unanimous choice of the judges.
