OKLAHOMA CITY--()--The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released today the Fiscal Year 2010 Preparedness Grant Programs for which the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security (OKOHS) is eligible to apply. In Fiscal Year 2010 OKOHS will apply for funding for the Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) which includes four (4) interconnected grant programs. Together the HSGP fund a variety of preparedness activities including planning, organization, equipment purchase, training and exercises.

The funding Oklahoma is receiving in the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) is down nearly 9.5% from Fiscal Year 2009. Funding is also down in MMRS and CCP.
DHS also announced several other grant programs for which Oklahoma may be eligible including a share of $14.4 million in the Port Security Grant Program. In Fiscal Year 2010 DHS also has a Tribal Homeland Security Grant Program which will provide supplemental funding to eligible tribes to help strengthen the nation against risks associated with potential terrorist attacks. Tribal Governments will apply directly to DHS for funding in this program.
The HSGP application is due to DHS April 19, 2010.
The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security (OKOHS) is the State Administrative Agency (SAA) for U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding. To date, the State of Oklahoma has been awarded more than $171 million in DHS grant funding.
