SAN FRANCISCO--()--Roost, Inc. (www.roost.com), the most comprehensive search engine for finding your perfect home, today announced the launch of its service in eleven new markets including the metropolitan areas of Albuquerque, NM; Birmingham, AL; Charleston, SC; Columbus, OH; Honolulu, HI; Kansas City, MO; Knoxville, TN; Madison, WI; Memphis, TN; Palm Springs, CA and San Antonio, TX. Local home buyers in these new markets now have access to the most accurate and up-to-date listings of single-family homes, foreclosures, new construction and for sale by owner properties on the Web, and local real estate agents and brokers can use the Roost platform to connect with home seekers.
“In the coming months we will accelerate our efforts of adding new cities so even more home-buyers can benefit from our comprehensive real estate search to find their perfect home.”
"Our team works constantly to add markets to the Roost platform so more consumers can take advantage of our best-in-class user experience," said Alex Chang, CEO of Roost. "In the coming months we will accelerate our efforts of adding new cities so even more home-buyers can benefit from our comprehensive real estate search to find their perfect home."
By adding these eleven new markets, the Roost network has now expanded to more than 8,000 popular U.S. cities. To develop the most accurate listings offering, Roost powers individual websites for local REALTORS® and forms partnerships with local Multiple Listing Service (MLS) boards one community at a time. By contrast, other real estate search sites largely depend on broker feeds and other third party sources which can be unreliable and outdated. Roost's listings are always current because they are tied directly to the MLS. In addition, Roost provides the ability to see additional inventory including foreclosures, new home construction and for sale by owner (FSBO) listings. In combination, these eight new markets provide more than 300,000 real estate listings to the Roost.com platform.
How Roost Works
Roost is a blazing-fast search engine that sits atop a hosted network of individual Internet Data Exchange (IDX) sites, the national standard for data sharing among all real estate brokers. With access to this comprehensive IDX data feed, Roost users create custom search profiles with simple filtering controls to sort by price range, square footage, numbers of bedrooms and bathrooms, neighborhood, school district, new or resale properties and more - even which homes have granite countertops, pools or other amenities. Most popular real estate search sites are listing aggregators, and unlike IDX sites powered by the MLS, these other sites get their listing data from a variety of sources including brokers, magazine publishers, newspapers, other software companies, and sometimes, even each other. The result of this type of data gathering is often inaccurate and incomplete data for the end user.
