NEW YORK--()--Zemoga, a pioneering digital marketing and innovation firm, today announced the launch of its augmented reality (AR) practice, designed to further the company’s work in this groundbreaking technology that has taken the marketing world by storm.
“Health care is one industry that has already begun a rapid adoption to use AR to inform and educate physicians, caregivers and patients”
The technical definition of augmented reality is the interaction of superimposed graphics, audio and other sense enhancements over a real-world environment displayed in real-time. What this means for consumers is the ability to interact with a brand’s imaginary world in an entirely new and compelling way.
Zemoga recently launched a popular AR campaign for Wise Cheez Doodles snacks that demonstrated how consumers, particularly teens and tweens in this case, could actively engage with a brand. The interactive “Rock the Cheez” game (http://www.cheezdoodles.com/rock-the-cheez.htm) encouraged young consumers to use a variety of art materials to build their own stage on which the “Cheez Dudes,” new brand mascots in the form of an alt-rock band, could perform. With the use of a webcam and digital codes available online, consumers could bring the Cheez Dudes to life, creating a music video in which they perform in the consumer’s own homemade surroundings.
Although augmented reality is a buzzword these days, Zemoga has been experimenting with this technology for quite some time, anticipating the needs of marketers and honing their expertise to bring campaigns to market successfully. The agency had encountered considerable success in creating cutting-edge 3D flash animation for its clients and found augmented reality – derived from flash interacting with a web camera – to be a natural evolution.
Though AR has invaded the pop culture world of popular consumer brands and magazines, Zemoga began by demonstrating the successful use of AR as a tool for education and instruction in the medical/pharmaceutical industry. “We built the prototype of the human heart and could visually demonstrate in a dynamic 3D environment the effect a new drug would have on the heart,” explained Zemoga CEO and co-founder, DJ Edgerton. “For medical devices such as inhalers or pacemakers, we created augmented reality versions of those devices, which are the perfect application to clearly convey precisely how that device would operate.”
“Health care is one industry that has already begun a rapid adoption to use AR to inform and educate physicians, caregivers and patients,” said Zemoga President and co-founder, Alejandro Gomez. “We look forward to creating further innovations with this technology and implementing it into a broad spectrum of industries as a catalyst for community, creativity and education.”
