MCLEAN, Va.--()--enTourage Systems, Inc.™, creator of the world’s first dualbook™ – the enTourage eDGe™ – announced today that its devices are powered by the ARMADA™ PXA168 processor from Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), a world leader in storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, providing enhanced portability. The enTourage eDGe is among the first consumer electronic devices to take advantage of the Marvell Smart technology, which allows for superior performance on a mobile device.

The enTourage eDGe is a dual-screen hybrid e-reader, netbook, notepad and audio/video recorder and player in one, offering an e-paper as well as an LCD screen for easy multitasking. Marvell’s ARMADA 168 processor is the current flagship device in the ARMADA 100 series, which balances low-power consumption and extended battery life, with enhanced computing and multimedia performance. This outfits the enTourage eDGe with full-featured Web browsing, multi-format video, and image processing. The Marvell® processor allows the device to operate faster and more efficiently, while providing a superior entertainment experience with rich media HD-quality video and 3D graphics support. The processor’s slim design contributes to the enTourage eDGe’s thin and compact form, while offering substantial battery life, ideal for travelers and consumers continually on-the-go. The enTourage eDGe also features Marvell’s 8688 Wi-Fi Bluetooth combo chip and Marvell PMICs to complement the ARMADA 168 processor. Marvell’s platform integration and full offerings are a key component of the Marvell Smart™ technology.

The left side of the enTourage eDGe is a 9.7” diagonal e-paper screen that users can engage to read e-books, take notes and draw diagrams. The right side of the product is a 10.1” LCD screen for easy Web surfing, email/instant message composing and video watching. A built-in camera and microphone captures audio and video content that users can store and play back later. The enTourage eDGe runs on the Google Android operating system and backs up all content on enTourage Systems’ servers. The device folds a full 360 degrees and orients its displays horizontally or vertically, to view as a book, single screen, or prop up laptop style. With the enTourage eDGe, users get a complete, controlled experience, operating in enTourage Systems’ environment which includes its own e-book store, sharing between devices and document storage on the company’s servers for safe keeping.
