Smartfish Technologies Introduces Long-Awaited ErgoMotion Technology

Company Glides Into Computer Ergonomics Market with the ErgoMotion Mouse

2010 International CES

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Smartfish Technologies launched its long-awaited ErgoMotion(TM) technology, the first ever design that combines the science of ergonomics with the technology of motion, resulting in a dramatic change and improvement in the way comfort is integrated into devices like mice and keyboards. Unveiled yesterday at Pepcom’s annual Wine, Dine and Demo event, ErgoMotion is the industry’s most advanced computer peripheral solution designed to relieve discomfort and repetitive stress injuries (RSI) related to extended computer usage. Smartfish worked with product design engineers and medical specialists to develop ErgoMotion, combining ergonomics and movement features that transcend the conventional ergonomic solutions on the market today.

“ErgoMotion is based on the concept that motion heals”

Smartfish’s patented ErgoMotion technology heralds a new generation of ergonomic solutions that promote comfort and productivity for a wide range of computer users during long hours of daily usage, whether at work or at home. ErgoMotion enables computer peripherals to automatically adjust to the user’s natural hand and wrist positions throughout the day, providing for a more comfortable, healthier, and enjoyable computer lifestyle.

“ErgoMotion is based on the concept that motion heals,” said Dr. Jack Atzmon, president and CEO of Smartfish Technologies. “Up until this point, there has been no true solution for the inherent problem of discomfort and injury caused by repetitive use of computer input devices. The mobile designs of our ErgoMotion products not only prevent discomfort and injury of hands and wrists, they also provide for increased productivity and a better overall user experience.”

Smartfish also announced general availability of the ErgoMotion Mouse, its first product offering based on ErgoMotion technology. The ErgoMotion Mouse is not just an ergonomic device, but a groundbreaking new design with a sleek curvature and pivot base. The ErgoMotion Mouse is the first laser mouse for the PC that features a patented swivel mechanism to promote a fluid movement, allowing the mouse to intuitively adapt to the user’s hand position. ErgoMotion technology enables forward, backward and lateral pivots, creating a wave-like movement for the wrist every time the mouse is in use.

The ErgoMotion Mouse boasts a sleek design with chrome detailing, and features both left and right click, four-way scroll wheel and a discreet wireless USB plug-in. The device is compatible with MACs and PCs, and features an ambidextrous design for both right and left-handed users. This unique design adapts to any user’s individual movements while using the computer to alleviate discomfort and to provide a more enjoyable experience.

“The ErgoMotion Mouse is not just another computer peripheral – it combines optimal ergonomic functionality with state-of-the art industrial design to provide comfort and aesthetics,” said John Moldauer, principal of p9 design. “This truly is a game-changing product that people will demand to use all the time once they try it out.”

Smartfish will also display the ErgoMotion Mouse at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which recently named the company as a CES Innovation Award Honoree. The Award recognizes the most innovative consumer electronics products in the industry's hottest product categories. Attendees can view the ErgoMotion Mouse at CES in January 2010 in the Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Showcase.

About Smartfish Technologies

Smartfish Technologies was founded on a passion for healthier living, smart technology and true ergonomic innovation in an ever-growing electronic world. As a practicing chiropractor of 14 years, Smartfish president and CEO Dr. Jack Atzmon met with thousands of patients who continually complained of hand, wrist, shoulder and back pain. Through extensive knowledge of repetitive stress injury (RSI) - common forms known as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, he began to understand that a key contributor to these ailments came from the day-to-day use of computers - specifically, repetitive motion of computer peripheral use.

Dr. Atzmon’s vision and breakthrough technology led him to form Smartfish Technologies and launch a line of computer peripherals based on the company’s ErgoMotion technologies, beginning with the ErgoMotion Mouse, to promote a healthy PC lifestyle for work and play.
