BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Quertle has released a new version of its innovative, free website, www.quertle.info, for searching the biomedical, life science, and chemical literature. With this release, Quertle introduces full-text content, an exciting new interface, and several enhancements.
Using advanced semantics, Quertle finds meaningful relationships related to the user’s query, providing immediate access to relevant documents. Highlighting in displayed relationships helps the user find critical facts. These advanced capabilities are encapsulated in a remarkably easy-to-use interface, simplifying searching and refining the results. And, with automatic extraction of Key Concepts, Quertle enables users to find what’s important quickly, and uncover new concepts they may not have known.
The Quertle search engine has been optimized for full-text documents, including relevant sections such as Methods, but not the Bibliography, thus reducing spurious results. Quertle’s new version initially covers the over 200 journals from BioMed Central, with additional full-text articles being added. Quertle combines this full-text content with the full set of MEDLINE/PubMed records to create a database of nearly 200 million relationships.
"We are excited to introduce relationship-driven semantic searching of full-text documents," said Jeffrey Saffer, Quertle's President. "In doing so, it was natural for us to begin with the content from BioMed Central, the pioneer of open access publishing. Their content is high quality, covers a wide set of disciplines and will be of great interest to our users."
"We are pleased that BioMed Central’s articles are now freely accessible via Quertle," said Matthew Cockerill, Managing Director, BioMed Central. "This tool makes it quick and easy for researchers to find the articles most relevant to them, whilst also offering users vital information on the meaningful relationships between concepts."
Quertle focuses on delivering informative results to biomedical researchers using advanced linguistic technologies, along with an in-depth understanding of the biomedical field.
