DAWSONVILLE, Ga.--()--The American Farm Exchange is announcing the launch of its website, www.americanfarmexchange.com, which aims to serve the informational needs of the US farming and agriculture community.
“So if a farmer or broker is looking for a particular tractor to buy or sell, or maybe a breeder for a particular type of cow, horse, etc., we at the American Farm Exchange would like to become the ‘go-to’ place for those items”
“The current virtual offering for agriculture consists primarily of sites providing content and ones that offer a specific good or service related to farming or farm equipment. The American Farm Exchange website seeks to address this disparate landscape by aggregating agricultural resources, products, and services into one location on the web,” says Cooper Anderson, CEO of the American Farm Exchange.
The site does this by providing a one-stop shop in five main categories: farmland, farm equipment, crops, livestock, and agricultural-related employment. It also offers forums for agricultural-related discussions, as well as a resource area for content.
“So if a farmer or broker is looking for a particular tractor to buy or sell, or maybe a breeder for a particular type of cow, horse, etc., we at the American Farm Exchange would like to become the ‘go-to’ place for those items,” Mr. Anderson states. “According to the most recent 2007 Census from the USDA, there are over 2.2 million farms in the United States – that number actually grew 4% from 2002. We want to offer a virtual marketplace for this large demographic to exchange not only farm related goods and services, but also information.”
“In the future,” Mr. Anderson adds, “we aspire for the American Farm Exchange to continue to evolve, offering enhanced ad functionality, farm equipment rental options, expansion into the Asian and international agriculture markets, increased organic offerings, all the while dynamically aggregating and updating its content offerings.”
Anyone can browse the site, and everyone who registers will receive 5 free one-month ads, one in each category of farm real estate, farm equipment, crops, and livestock, as well as employment. In addition, during the American Farm Exchange’s launch period, the site will be offering special promotions for paid ads for a limited period of time to pre-selected brokers and dealers.
