Methode to Present on Conductive Inkjet Inks at IMI’s Sixth Annual Security Printing Conference

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Methode Development Company, a division of Methode Electronics, Inc., announces that it will present on its conductive, water-based inkjet inks at the Sixth Annual Information Management Institute (IMI) Security Printing Conference. The conference will be held November 16-18, 2009 at Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel in Baltimore, MD.

Methode’s presentation, titled: “Water Based Inkjet Printable Inks: Development Approach and Production Enabling Methodology” will showcase their innovative ink technology which makes it possible to print a working electronic circuit on paper and polymer substrates via thermal or Piezo inkjet printers. The newly developed ink technology does not require secondary cure processing to achieve conductivity. The benefits and advantages associated with the use of this technology within the security printing industry will be highlighted during the presentation.

In the presentation, Methode’s Product Development Manager and conductive ink specialist, Frank St. John, will address, among other matters, the major topics of the product development, substrate compatibility, ink characterization, variable data advantages and enabling of prototype development that is scalable to production. Mr. St. John is one of the industry’s foremost experts with more than 30 years’ experience in the electronic ink field. He has been awarded six electronic ink patents over his career.
