InGenesis Named “Minority Service Firm of the Year” By U.S. Dept. of Commerce’s MBDA-Dallas Region

Only Five Companies Nationwide Recognized With This MED Week Award

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The United States Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA)-Dallas Region has named San Antonio-based InGenesis its 2009 “Minority Service Firm of the Year.” The region is comprised of 11 states: Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

Veronica A. Edwards, InGenesis president/CEO and founder, received a plaque recognizing her company’s outstanding achievements during the MBDA-Dallas Region’s Minority Enterprise Development Week (MED Week) conference held August 4 in Dallas, Texas. This diversified healthcare solutions company was one of just five service firms -- and the only medical staffing firm -- in the nation to be so honored.

Since 1983 every U.S. President has proclaimed an annual National MED Week observance to recognize the outstanding achievements of minority businesses and entrepreneurs, and to honor those corporations and financial institutions which support minority business development. MBDA, the Federal agency created to foster the growth of America’s minority-owned businesses, sponsors regional MED Week events in Dallas, New York City, Atlanta, Chicago and San Francisco prior to the national MED Week Awards Gala (this year scheduled for Aug. 26-28 in Washington, D.C.).
