SAN FRANCISCO--()--Adura Technologies, which provides turnkey wireless lighting systems for existing buildings, today named former Honeywell International, Inc. (HON) executive Jack Bolick as its new Chief Executive Officer.
“Jack has demonstrated these attributes throughout his career, most recently at Honeywell where he grew HPS from $1.5 billion to $3 billion in just six years. We are fortunate to attract someone of his caliber to Adura.”
Bolick, former President of Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS), replaces Adura Co-Founder Zach Gentry, who will become its Chief Strategy Officer.
“Adura Technologies is entering a growth phase of its development that requires a strong, experienced executive manager with an organizational vision and ability to deliver complex projects to customers,” Gentry said. “Jack has demonstrated these attributes throughout his career, most recently at Honeywell where he grew HPS from $1.5 billion to $3 billion in just six years. We are fortunate to attract someone of his caliber to Adura.”
Adura Technologies is a smart grid technology venture that applies low-power wireless mesh networking to the lighting market. Lighting accounts for 38 percent of U.S. electricity consumption, which is the single largest contributor to U.S. carbon emissions. Lighting is also one of the few electrical loads that provides instantaneous, pure subtractive demand reduction to overtaxed electrical grids.
“I am excited to be joining Adura Technologies and am eager to lend my experience to guide the company, already on the leading edge of smart grid energy management for commercial buildings, to the next level,” said Bolick. “Adura has the opportunity to create meaningful jobs in a difficult economy with a solution that reduces stress on the electrical grid while delivering bottom line results to our customers.”
Adura Technologies was founded in 2004 under the auspices of research grants provided by the California Energy Commission’s Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Grant program. In 2008, Adura raised $5 million in a Series A venture round from Claremont Creek Ventures, represented on the board by Nat Goldhaber, and VantagePoint Venture Partners, represented on the board by Lee Burrows. Adura is currently serving numerous customers in the commercial, industrial and institutional building sectors.
