Boost Mobile Named 2009 North American Prepaid Mobile Service of the Year

Frost & Sullivan Awards Boost Mobile for Continuing to Enhance its Service Offerings and Solidifying its Leadership Position by Delivering High Value to the Prepaid Wireless Segment

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Boost Mobile, the prepaid division of Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S), offering quality wireless phones and flexible service options with no long-term contracts or activation fees, today was named 2009 North American Prepaid Mobile Service of the Year by analyst firm Frost & Sullivan. The award will be presented to Boost Mobile on May 5, 2009, at Frost & Sullivan’s Mobile & Wireless Awards Banquet.

“Our customer base appreciates our straightforward offerings and Frost & Sullivan’s recognition is a testament to our market penetration and continued success in the wireless industry.”

“Boost Mobile has successfully evolved into a total communications service provider in the North American prepaid wireless market, especially with the launch of its groundbreaking Monthly Unlimited plan,” said Brent Iadarola, Global Research Director from Frost & Sullivan. “The company is poised to strengthen its market leadership position by leveraging a mix of high-quality service offerings, extensive retail operations and economical and transparent pricing. The 2009 award for North American Prepaid Mobile Service of the Year is presented to Boost Mobile in recognition of its impressive performance in this segment and is an acknowledgement of its strong growth potential.”

To choose the recipient of this award, the Frost & Sullivan mobile and wireless analyst team tracks all competing services for service adoption and growth, R&D spending, new products in development and new product features and modifications. All new service launches and new products in development within each company are compared and evaluated based on degree of innovation and customer satisfaction. Frost & Sullivan presents this top award to the company ranked number one in overall product success.

Boost Mobile received the award for offering its customers multiple plans, with no hidden fees, to best fit their needs—including pay by the minute, day or month. The recently launched 'Monthly Unlimited' plan offers unlimited nationwide talk, text and multimedia messaging, wireless Web and nationwide Walkie-Talkie services for an all-inclusive price of $50 per month – with no additional Telecom Taxes, activation, roaming, traveling or long distance fees.

“Frost & Sullivan believes that this aggressive pricing strategy is the need of the hour and will allow Boost Mobile to expand its offerings beyond the youth segment, to all value-seeking customers, which should yield impressive results for the company in 2009,” Iadarola said.

“We are honored to be recognized by such a well respected research firm for our leadership in the prepaid market,” said Matt Carter, president of Boost Mobile. “Our customer base appreciates our straightforward offerings and Frost & Sullivan’s recognition is a testament to our market penetration and continued success in the wireless industry.”
