NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--Healthcare professionals in the Southeast have the opportunity to come together on May 30, 2009 for a unique one-day healthcare event known as HealthCamp Nashville. This event, also known as “HealthCampNash,” is a gathering of healthcare thought leaders in a collaborative think-tank atmosphere. The goal of the event is to explore, understand, and affect the changing world of healthcare, from shifting methodologies to the implications of Health 2.0. HealthCamp Nashville is free and open to providers, payers, patients, clinicians, IT, support services, B2B, marketers, and services that are involved in healthcare. The event will be held at Lipscomb University’s School of Pharmacy.
“HealthCamp Nashville is coming at a perfect time as the groundswell for healthcare reform, emerging technologies, and consumer-driven healthcare are colliding. It’s a prime opportunity to develop new contacts, exchange and challenge ideas, and create a catalyst for positive change.”
“HealthCamps have happened in Boston, San Francisco, and New York. We believe Nashville is certainly the perfect place for an event such as this because of its huge healthcare industry,” says D.J. Smith, co-founder of HealthCamp Nashville and partner at Talstone Group, the healthcare marketing agency organizing the event. “HealthCamp Nashville is coming at a perfect time as the groundswell for healthcare reform, emerging technologies, and consumer-driven healthcare are colliding. It’s a prime opportunity to develop new contacts, exchange and challenge ideas, and create a catalyst for positive change.”
The event will feature keynote speakers Dr. Jim Jirjis and Sue Muse – developers of the MyHealthAtVanderbilt Web site – from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, as well as open-format sessions and panel discussions. The event includes four general healthcare tracks: business, technology, policy, and wellness.
HealthCamp Nashville is unique to other conferences because the attendees determine what topics will be addressed ahead of time by submitting topics online and voting on ones they want discussed. When the open schedule slots are posted online, participants can see which topics are the most popular and offer to make a presentation about a particular topic.
