Homeland Security Capital Corporation Appoints Project Manager for Richland, Washington Office

Michael M. Stromberg Brings Over Thirty-Five Years of Construction and Engineering Experience

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Homeland Security Capital Corporation (“HSCC”) (OTCBB:HOMS), an international provider of specialized technology-based radiological, nuclear, environmental, disaster relief and security solutions to government and commercial customers, announced that its subsidiary, Safety and Ecology Corporation (“SEC”), has appointed Michael M. Stromberg project manager for its Richland, Washington office. Mr. Stromberg brings over thirty-five years of combined construction and engineering experience to his new position at SEC, serving as project manager for SEC’s 100D Burial Grounds remediation project at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) 586-square-mile Hanford Site located in Washington State.

SEC was awarded a subcontract worth approximately $30M, by Washington Closure Hanford and has been cleaning up contaminated burial grounds and remaining sites in D Area. SEC is performing well on this five-year project that is expected to conclude in 2011, as scheduled. Mr. Stromberg is now responsible for site safety, implementing plans, procedures, and specific work instructions necessary to comply with applicable technical and quality assurance requirements, planning procurement activities, and ensuring field activities are being conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner.

“We are pleased that Michael is joining our team, and believe he will be a great asset for our Richland office operations,” said SEC CEO and HSCC President Christopher Leichtweis. “Mike is a proven expert in problem solving and resolution, project planning, and managing projects from inception through completion.”

Mr. Stromberg’s experience includes eighteen years of project/construction management experience plus seventeen years of construction/design engineering experience from URS Washington Division (Formerly Washington Group International). During his previous employment, his responsibilities included environmental and demolition related work with agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and United Stated Army Corps of Engineers. Stromberg graduated from the University of North Dakota, Lake Region with an Associate Arts Degree in Architectural Design Technology in Devils Lake, North Dakota.

“This strong addition contributes to the overall revamping of SEC’s Western operations,” said former Maryland Congressman and HSCC Chairman C. Thomas McMillen. “The Richland office supports our mission to expand our range and increase our ability to respond to chemical, radiological, nuclear, and environmental disasters with state-of-the-art equipment and diagnostic testing. We are very pleased with Michael’s selection and look forward to his contributions.”
