Plymouth Rock Assurance Picks Up Where Registry of Motor Vehicles Leaves Off
Unique Make Your Life Easier Services (MYLES) Program Offers Free Renewal Reminders to Policyholders
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As of November 3, 2008, The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles will no longer send out notices to consumers reminding them to renew their driver’s licenses. By eliminating these and other courtesy notices, the Registry will save close to $800,000. This action comes in response to having two million dollars chopped from the Registry’s budget as part of statewide cuts and spending controls announced by Mass. Governor Deval Patrick last month.
Plymouth Rock Assurance fills the gap left by the Registry by being the first insurer in the state to offer policyholders a free email alert service to remind individuals to renew their driver’s license, vehicle registration and inspection sticker on time. The MYLESsm (Make Your Life Easier Servicessm) program is just one way Plymouth Rock helps customers save time, money and eliminate the need for paper mailings, making for an easier, “green” approach to managing their auto insurance needs.
The unique MYLES service programs for Plymouth Rock customers include:
- Proactive reminders of inspection sticker renewals
- Email reminders for license and registration renewals for every car and driver on a customer’s policies
- Online payment, electronic billing and secure email document delivery
- A savings pass card entitling customers to discounts of up to 25 percent on auto-related purchases, including tires, oil changes and car rentals
“This exclusive benefit to Plymouth Rock customers is especially relevant now that the state will no longer send renewal notices by mail,” said Hal Belodoff, president of Plymouth Rock Assurance. “The MYLES program was designed to make it easier for our policyholders to stay on top of their car maintenance and insurance needs. We know that consumers are looking for more value from their insurance companies. MYLES is just one way that we at Plymouth Rock deliver more than just insurance.”
Plymouth Rock Assurance also recently announced that it is rewarding new and renewing Massachusetts policyholders with lower rates for “going green” by driving less. Committed to reducing emissions and helping customers find new ways to save on their insurance policies, Plymouth Rock has lowered rates for customers who drive fewer miles than the average in their geographic area.
