Nordson to Present Adhesive Technology Advancements at Adhesive and Sealant Council's Fall Convention & Expo
DULUTH, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq-NDSN), a worldwide leader in adhesive application technology, today announced that it will be presenting the latest adhesive industry advancements in sustainability, photovoltaic module assembly, and hot melt technology at the Adhesive and Sealant Council’s (ASC) Fall Convention & Expo. The event, entitled “Creating a Sustainable Business,” will take place in Baltimore, Maryland, October 12-14, 2008, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront.
Nordson’s participation will include four featured speakers:
- Rick Pallante, marketing manager for Nordson’s adhesives group, will be speaking on Oct. 14, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the conference’s Educational Sessions. His presentation, “Achieving Sustainability through Adhesive Dispensing Technology,” will cover various hot melt adhesive trends, equipment and applications that can be used to effectively apply adhesives which can help minimize the environmental impact of the manufacturing processes and improve the bottom line.
- On the same day, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., “Sealing a Path to Grid Parity with Solar Energy – Automating Adhesive and Sealant Dispensing Technology to Improve Payback of Photovoltaic (PV) Module Assembly,” will be co-presented by Todd P. Romanski, market development manager for the North America Adhesives Division, and Kai Kroeger, market development manager for the European Adhesives Division. This presentation will discuss new and ongoing developments in sealants and related application technologies that have the potential to meet the challenge of reducing production costs for photovoltaic (PV) modules. These developments have significant implications for helping achieve grid parity, the point at which photovoltaic, or solar, electricity is equal to or less expensive than grid power. Nordson systems help improve quality, reduce costs and can streamline many sealing and bonding processes in solar product assembly.
- Larry Saidman, marketing technology manager at Nordson, will present an “Overview of Hot Melt Application Equipment” on Oct. 13, 2008 as part of the ASC’s Hot Melt Short Course, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. His presentation will address the following topics: adhesive melters, guns, fill systems, timers and application techniques (including bead, dot, spray and contour coat.) Taught by industry experts who work with hot melt adhesive every day, the Short Course provides the most up-to-date information on end-use applications, raw material considerations and equipment and test methods.
Nordson will be sponsoring the Welcome Reception on Sunday evening, Oct. 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In addition, Nordson has announced that it has contributed content for the Adhesives Application/Dispensing Equipment section of Adhesives.org, the online educational portal developed by the Adhesive and Sealant Council. The recently created website is being officially launched at the conference.
