Arabella Volkers to Direct Compass North American Banking Services

Former COO of Deutsche Banks eCommerce Unit to Focus on Operational Challenges Facing Troubled Sector

OAK BROOK, Ill.--()--Industry specialist Arabella Volkers will advise Compass on the development and delivery of service offerings to the banking sector, the consultancy announced today.

“Arabella’s industry knowledge and experience will greatly enhance our ability to help our clients achieve immediate savings, as well as provide operational capability to support strategies over the long term.”

Compass is a global management consulting firm that specializes in the business transformation of large enterprises through improved operational effectiveness with increased efficiency in their associated information systems.

The challenge for executives today is to ensure the closest possible alignment between enterprise capabilities and strategic intent, said Volkers. Boards therefore seek financial transparency that translates readily into actions. This means not merely data to support business decisions but demonstrable evidential proof. Compass is at the vanguard of data-driven decision making with a methodology that yields insights and results.

Compass banking services are designed to enhance efficiency through the analysis of business operations, identification of root causes of performance gaps, and development of appropriate recommendations. Results include immediate, quantifiable benefits, as well as long-term roadmaps for change that articulate the operational requirements of business strategies. The banking service leverages the proven success of Compass established methodology and database of operational metrics, notably for consumer and commercial secured lending, payments, and credit cards.

Prior to entering the management consulting field, Volkers spent seven years with Deutsche Bank in a variety of senior management and client-facing roles, including COO of the banks Equities eCommerce Group. In this capacity, she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the $230 million units business and IT operations, and played a key role in the design and deployment of content management and order processing solutions that generated $37 million savings. Arabella is a Sloan fellow and obtained her Masters at London Business School.

Banks face unprecedented pressure to do more with less, said Max Staines, president of Compass North America. Arabellas industry knowledge and experience will greatly enhance our ability to help our clients achieve immediate savings, as well as provide operational capability to support strategies over the long term.
