PORTLAND, Ore.--()--Morph Labs, a leading provider of Platform as a Service (PaaS) for web applications, has been selected to support the global “Search for the XML Superstar” contest sponsored by IBM and the International DB2 User Group (IDUG). Morph Labs will provide an online version of the IBM DB2 Express-C database server and an associated web application interface to allow contestants from around the world to take part in the competition easily.

“Search for the XML Superstar” is part of the International DB2 User Group (IDUG)’s efforts to highlight the benefits of DB2 and related technologies and is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of contestants from countries around the world. Morph Labs and the IBM DB2 team have worked together to create an online application that will allow contestants to access a fully configured and populated DB2 Express-C database in the Morph Labs cloud environment.
Running inside a Morph AppSpace, the application and associated cloud-resident DB2 Express-C database will provide the participating XML developers with an environment in which they can use their XML skills without having to download, install and configure the database first.
