OTTAWA & PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TransCore reported its GlobalWave satellite network, the backbone of its in-cab and trailer tracking system, recorded 99.992 percent availability, or on-air performance, in 2007 for its North American operations, including Mexico. Availability, or “uptime,” refers to the percentage of time the network is accessible to customers.

The average availability for all the networks worldwide that TransCore manages was 99.991 percent. TransCore’ satellite network availability compares favorably with dial-up POTS (plain-old-telephone system) standards of 99.999 percent availability, and cellular systems’ 95+ percent availability.
