P&G Family of Brands Joins Flying Pig Marathon in 10th Anniversary Celebration & Cincy Cinco Festival
CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--From cleaning the clothes of runners with Tide to the annual Old Spice High Endurance “Mile to the Finish,” 10 brands from P&G will play a big role in enhancing the experience for the expected field of 22,000 participants in the 10th anniversary Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon weekend, May 2-4, 2008.
Crest Pro-Health, Head & Shoulders, Mr. Clean, Old Spice, Pampers, Secret and Tide are all event sponsors, ensuring that participants will see P&G products all weekend starting Friday at the Flying Pig Health and Fitness Expo presented by National City, all the way through Sunday’s Victory Party; including:
- Samples of Tide laundry detergent and Dunkin Donuts Coffee will be distributed both Friday and Saturday at the Marathon Expo, and a limited supply of free Charmin stuffed bears will be distributed to children at the CincinnatiUSA.com booth.
- “Secret” gifts will be distributed to guests at the VIP Party on Fountain Square on Friday evening and at the Pasta Party on Saturday evening, courtesy of Secret anti-perspirant deodorant.
- The popular Pampers Diaper Dash on Saturday morning features the littlest piglets getting their chance to compete in a 15-foot crawl.
On Marathon morning, Tide-marked laundry baskets will be available along the first mile of the course to collect runners’ discarded clothing, which will be washed and donated to St. Vincent de Paul. P&G Brands also will sponsor a number of Marathon events, including:
- Crest Pro-Health “Smile Mile” at mile six, where photos of the participants will be snapped via picture phones and sent to the big screen at Fountain Square. Samples also will be distributed.
- The first-ever “Head and Shoulders Above the Rest” Award will be given for the fastest individual relay leg time, for the overall fastest male and female runner.
- The first-ever Mr. Clean “Clean Your Clock” Award is awarded to the male and female full marathoner with the fastest time for the first 13.1 miles of the race.
- The annual Old Spice High Endurance “Mile to the Finish” award is presented to the overall fastest male and female runners for the final mile of the full marathon.
- At the finish, runners and walkers will be offered travel size Vicks hand sanitizer to refresh with after the race.
