Quadraspec and Antech Diagnostics Form Key Partnership
Quadraspec, Inc. has Signed an Agreement with Antech Diagnostics, the Largest Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in the World
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Quadraspec, Inc. and Antech Diagnostics have signed a contract which will allow Antech to upgrade their laboratories with Quadraspec's revolutionary SDI™ (Spinning Disc Interferometry) detection technology.
Antech, based in Irvine, Calif., is the world's largest veterinary diagnostic laboratories offering daily service to more than 12,000 animal hospitals, zoos and government agencies worldwide. Quadraspec, which is based in the Purdue Research Park, has installed the detection technology of "Inspira Sample Handlers and Readers" in the Lake Success, N.Y. and the Oak Brook, Ill. laboratories. Plans also have been finalized for installation in the Irvine, Calif. laboratory.
"The contract with Antech represents an important milestone for Quadraspec, and this agreement speaks to the quality and performance of our technology platform," said Dick Aderman, Quadraspec's president and chief operating officer. "The size of Antech's operation requires a robust and high throughput system. This is exactly what Quadraspec delivered."
The scientific and engineering innovations of Quadraspec offer multiple advantages for Antech Diagnostics. The unprecedented throughput allows for the processing of 3,500 – 5,000 samples per night with a single reader. The system also features a unique 272-well format. This permits for larger numbers of patients to be analyzed on a single disc and in less time. The rapid read times offered by Quadraspec's Inspira Reader can produce 1,000 results per hour which is a fraction of the time normally required for this level of throughput.
"The ability to develop new and more efficient molecular and immunoassays in a shorter time period has been the focus of many of these organizations," Aderman said. "In a time when healthcare costs are increasing, Quadraspec's innovations are providing this increased efficiency while also reducing costs."
This technology positions Quadraspec as one of the few companies capable of impacting the entire drug discovery and development pipeline.
