Decor&You(R) Space Planning Includes Room for Growth as Young Franchise Enters Its Tenth Anniversary Year

SOUTHBURY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Young franchisor, Decor&You, Inc., will begin its tenth year with a powerful new franchise product, a new, stylized online communications platform, and an expanding team of award-winning decorators in nearly 30 states, announced CEO Karen Powell at the company’s recent national conference in Connecticut.

Decor&You exceeded franchise sales projections in 2007, within just ten months, on a new multi-unit, territory model first offered in January. The model relies on a single franchisee who directs development and recruits experienced designers. New territories operate in California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, Texas, and Virginia.

Powell said innovation continued online in September, with a website overhaul, to strengthen the company’s communications platform and help drive both franchise and decorating sales. “Today www.decorandyou.com mirrors the way Decor&You creates beautiful interiors in homes and businesses across America: full-service interior decorating solutions that are consumer-focused, friendly and easy to navigate,” she noted. Features rolling out in 2008 include an interactive palette to help consumers explore designing with color, an online retail store, career postings, and events calendars with auto-registration functionality.

Achievements in client sales, including a 22% increase in the median sale, enabled Powell to award dozens of franchisees for business development and design excellence, people she says set “important new standards for the small custom-decorating business.”

Paul Allegro who operates as a regional business developer based in Bridgewater, New Jersey, was honored as the company’s top franchisee for 2007. Allegro has grown a team of 13 decorators from scratch, in just three years, and originated a dynamic marketing tool to enhance Decor&You training.

Sandra Hambley of Vienna, Vir., led her design team of eight in northern Virginia and southern Maryland to top U.S. sales. A high-achieving working mother, Hambley delivered her first child in June of this year, moved into a new, larger regional studio and motivated her team to double sales over 2006.
