STANFORD, Calif.--()--Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) will team with Deloitte & Touche USA LLP to present the sixth annual Positive Coaching Alliance National Youth Sports Awards dinner at Stanford University on Saturday, February 24.
“Coaching athletes to Honor the Game contributes to a growing sense of responsibility and maturing moral reasoning that prepares athletes to become contributing citizens of the larger community.”
Phil Jackson, head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and PCA’s National Spokesperson, will be the keynote speaker at the awards. PCA’s Ronald L. Jensen Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to St. John’s University’s (Minnesota) head football coach John Gagliardi, college football's all-time winningest coach. Olympic gold medal gymnast Bart Conner will be the event’s emcee. In addition, youth coaches and organizations from around the United States will be honored for demonstrating excellence.

Joining Phil Jackson and other athletic, academic and business leaders on PCA’s National Advisory Board is Mark Edmunds, vice-chairman and regional managing partner of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP.

The PCA National Youth Sports Awards honor youth sports coaches who best exemplify the Double-Goal CoachTM, whose first goal is winning, and whose second, more important goal is teaching life lessons through sports. Also honored are youth sports organizations that create a culture in which Honoring the Game is a paramount value.
More than 300 people are expected to attend the event. Last year’s event was a sell out and tickets are currently available for purchase at www.positivecoach.org.
