Internet Retailer NetShops Acquires Binoculars.com & Telescopes.com

OMAHA, Neb.--()--NetShops Inc. has acquired Thralow Inc.s family of 30 specialty retail websites. The purchase includes Binoculars.com, Pans.com and Telescopes.com, and it brings together two of the fastest-growing online niche retailers in America. In the last 12 months, NetShops sales have exceeded $100 million, and Thralow's family of sites has generated more than $26 million in sales.

Thralows family of stores is perfectly suited to NetShops commitment to operating tightly focused stores that offer specialty products at prices within most any budget, said NetShops Co-founder and CEO, Douglas Nielsen. Because every NetShops store focuses on one product category, the company is able to offer products that customers won't find anywhere else. NetShops owns and currently operates 120 Internet specialty stores, including Hammocks.com, DayBeds.com and Dartboards.com.

Thralow Inc. has a similar focus as a world market leader in specialty markets. Telescopes.com, Binoculars.com and SpottingScopes.com are leading websites in their specific product areas.

Daniel Thralow, CEO of Thralow Inc., noted, A major strength of the Internet is its ability to amplify the power of niche marketing. Niche sites allow marketers to define themselves as experts in specific fields. Consumers want an enjoyable shopping experience, and they rely on our extensive product knowledge to provide it.

Nielsen agreed, adding that the narrow focus for each website enables store managers to know their products inside and out. The managers work directly with manufacturers to bring customers great value and continually strive to provide top-quality service.

Over the last five years, NetShops has been building a robust infrastructure to operate and market niche websites, Nielsen said. Putting Thralows stores onto our business platform will help those stores reach their full sales potential. We can use our substantial investment in this business platform to bring new customers to both Thralows and our sites.

Other top Internet stores for NetShops include PatioUmbrellas.com, BeanBags.com and WorldGlobes.com. Among Thralows other popular sites are eMetalDetectors.com, Peepers.com and SpottingScopes.com.
