BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN), a leading supplier of speech and imaging solutions, today announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against SoftMed Systems, Inc. in the United States District Court in Texarkana, Texas.
In its complaint, Nuance asserts that SoftMed infringes patents covering centralized digital dictation systems and specific features thereof. In the patent infringement suit, Nuance seeks monetary damages for SoftMed’s infringement as well as injunctive relief to prevent SoftMed from continuing to infringe U.S. Patents No. 5,179,627, entitled “Digital Dictation System,” and No. 5,153,905, entitled “Priority Voice Message Delivery System.”
