DEJ Productions Acquires North American Rights to MY DATE WITH DREW; Romantic Comedy Hits Theaters August 5, 2005

LOS ANGELES--()--May 17, 2005--DEJ Productions Inc., executive producers of CRASH and MONSTER, announces the acquisition of North American rights to MY DATE WITH DREW, winner of Audience Awards for Best Picture at the 2004 HBO Comedy Arts Festival and NY Gen Art Festival. The digital diary is a roller coaster ride through the rose-tinted glasses of 27-year-old Brian Herzlinger, who aspires to have a date with the woman of his dreams -- Drew Barrymore. Andy Reimer, President of DEJ Productions, announced the acquisition along with the company's plans to release the film theatrically on August 5, 2005 through Slowhand Cinema Releasing.

MY DATE WITH DREW was shot entirely for $1,100 that Herzlinger won on a game show. The production used a camera purchased on credit from Circuit City, and then returned under the store's 30-day refund policy. On his journey to woo Drew, Herzlinger consults a psychic for love advice, hires a Drew look-alike to practice his date etiquette and crashes the world premiere of "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" simply to steal a glance at his dream girl. Supporting Herzlinger's quest with anecdotes and advice are several Hollywood insiders who appear as themselves including Eric Roberts, Corey Feldman and "Charlie's Angels" screenwriter John August. The film is directed by Herzlinger, Brett Winn, Jon Gunn and produced by Kerry David.

"Brian Herzlinger and his friends did an amazing thing -- pursuing a dream in a fearless, honest and incredibly optimistic fashion," said Reimer. "By the time they were finished, the filmmakers had made one of the most winning and infectious romantic comedies in recent memory. It is a funny, romantic, and, ultimately, quite inspiring movie that we are extremely pleased to present."

Simultaneously with the film's release, BLOCKBUSTER will promote the MY DATE WITH DREW throughout their stores and online environment.

The deal was negotiated by Reimer for DEJ Productions and executive producer Clark Peterson ("Monster") and Alan Abrams of Costa Abrams & Coates for MY DATE WITH DREW.
