“Future Opportunities for the Massachusetts Fuel Cell Industry and the New Hydrogen Coalition”
"Massachusetts, famous around the world for its contributions to technology, has the highest concentration of hydrogen and fuel cell companies in the nation, and is uniquely poised to lead in the development and deployment of practical solutions to today's many energy challenges," said Brad Bradshaw, President of the Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition. The non-profit organization will be formally introduced to the public on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Summit at Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Alden Hall from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition, dedicated to promoting and expanding the hydrogen and fuel cell industry in Massachusetts, is a unique combination of successful companies, universities and research labs focused on generating, storing and using hydrogen. Members' activities include: economic hydrogen generation from solar, electrolysis, biomass, methanol, coal and natural gas; compact hydrogen storage using magnesium and carbon nanotubes; micro-fuel cell development using MEMs technology; portable power for military and consumer electronic applications; fuel cells for transportation including cars, trucks and scooters; fuel cell standby power for remote and grid connected power; and materials and components manufacture.
Congressman James P. McGovern will deliver the summit keynote address: "Future Opportunities for the Massachusetts Fuel Cell Industry and the New Hydrogen Coalition". Additional speakers include the U.S. Department of Energy, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, the WPI Fuel Cell Center, MassMEDIC, Northeastern University, and leading hydrogen and fuel cell companies.
Some of the industry leading hydrogen and fuel cell companies exhibiting and presenting at the Summit include: Acumentrics Corporation; Ballard Power Systems, Inc.; CellTech Power, Inc.; ElectroChem Inc.; Fideris Inc.; Giner, Inc.; Hy9 Corp.; Lilliputian Systems Inc.; Mechanology LLC; Nanoptek, Inc.; New Energy Solutions, Inc.; Nuvera Fuel Cells, Inc.; Protonex Technology Corporation; Safe Hydrogen LLC; and ZTEK Corporation, Inc.
