Dr. Chien Lin, Whei-Jun, Legislator in the National Yuan representing Tainan City, Taiwan, has prioritized their government's goal to establish a national identification program for its livestock industry, and has subsequently allocated funds for the implementation of Advanced ID's RFID tags for the identification of all cattle in the Jinmen province. Upon completion, the Taiwan Government intends to proceed with mandatory identification of its hog and cattle population.
Barry Bennett, CEO of Advanced ID Corporation, commented, "We are the only company being invited to participate in the facilitation of Taiwan's objective to implement a livestock identification system. This is a significant achievement for our company especially when you consider that the Government of Taiwan has tested other competitive products including visual bar code tags and low frequency RFID tags in favor of our technology. It is estimated that the Taiwanese market represents potential revenues of up to $25 million per annum."
