CTIA Wireless IT and Entertainment 2003
LAS VEGAS--()--Oct. 20, 2003--During the Mobile Entertainment Summit at CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2003 today, leading mobile entertainment publisher and studio, Sorrent, announced the launch of its Mobile Persona(SM) technology. Mobile Persona allows gamers to create a digital character that earns skills and builds experience that can be applied to all Sorrent multiplayer games - even across genres. The first games to support Mobile Persona are the multiplayer versions of FOX Sports(TM) Racing and FOX Sports(TM) Boxing, both available this month on major US wireless carriers.

"Key to Sorrent's entry in multiplayer mobile gaming is our persistent character technology," said Scott Orr, president of Sorrent Studios and chief creative officer for Sorrent. "We have been in development with this technology since the very beginning of the company and believe that Mobile Persona will encourage gamers to make their mobile gaming experience personalized, interactive and more entertaining."

“Key to Sorrent's entry in multiplayer mobile gaming is our persistent character technology”

"Sorrent's new Mobile Persona tech is probably one of the most exciting things happening in celly gaming right now, allowing gamers to create an on-line avatar to represent them in one-on-one pigskin battles, boxing matches, and b-ball," said popular gaming portal, IGN.com. "Mobile Persona is the kind of innovation we need to see from more handset game makers if this budding industry wants to become more than just a source for passing amusement."

Sorrent plans to introduce 10 Mobile Persona, multiplayer games in 2004. Mobile Persona allows purchasers of Sorrent's multiplayer titles, such as FOX Sports MP Racing and FOX Sports MP Boxing, to create a persistent character and to develop a multi-talented superstar. Users can select or create a Mobile Persona character, play the same character every game and earn experience points as their skills improve. As other connected FOX Sports and Sorrent games are released, players will be able to apply their earned Mobile Persona's skills to those games. Skills and attributes are transferable across genres, such as from a sports game to an action/adventure game.

Gamers can match randomly with other mobile gamers, create a buddy list of favorite head-to-head rivals, or choose a BOT, which, based Sorrent's Mobile A.I., can have similar skills and attributes as the gamer's own Mobile Persona. Mobile gamers can visit http://mp.sorrent.com to view leaderboards, add or modify Mobile Persona characters and learn more about multiplayer mobile games from Sorrent.

FOX Sports MP Boxing and FOX Sports MP Racing can be downloaded for a monthly subscription charge from most major US wireless carriers. For more information, visit www.sorrent.com.
