COPPELL, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As millions of Americans focus their attention toward shedding those extra holiday pounds, Market Street’s Dallas-Fort Worth-area locations are making it easier for guests to lead a healthier lifestyle in 2009. Market Street, United Supermarkets’ world-class food concept store, offers numerous Health and Wellness services, many of which are complimentary.
“Market Street is a haven for food connoisseurs, nutrition-minded shoppers, budget-oriented parents and those on-the-go individuals”
Market Street DFW Nutritionist Alicia Brown offers personal shopping assistance to guests wanting to develop healthier eating habits. Available by appointment, the registered dietician imparts her nutritional expertise throughout the entire shopping experience, leading guests at all DFW Market Street locations toward a future of well-informed food selection completely free of charge. Additionally, Brown is available for group grocery store tours, Health and Wellness presentations and Lunch ‘n’ Learn Sessions.
“Market Street is a haven for food connoisseurs, nutrition-minded shoppers, budget-oriented parents and those on-the-go individuals,” said Alicia Brown, Market Street’s Health and Wellness marketing manager. “We offer a unique combination of hard-to-find specialty items, gourmet delicacies, certified organic products and value-priced everyday groceries. When you add Market Street’s Health and Wellness services, it’s hard to find another neighborhood grocery store that brings that much value to the kitchen table.”
Market Street’s Frisco store, along with its newest Coppell-Lewisville location opening Jan. 14, features Living Well ExpressCare Clinics. The in-store health care centers are staffed by fully licensed and certified nurse practitioners and physicians’ assistants that can assist with treating most common minor illnesses, including allergy-related symptoms, colds and flu, strep throat and vomiting. Additional services include glucose testing, pregnancy testing, school/camp physicals, diabetes screening, blood pressure checks and common vaccinations. The Coppell-Lewisville Market Street’s grand opening also will highlight the grocer’s first implementation of its new health tag labeling program. Designed by Market Street’s own dietitians, the labeling system will help guide guests in making food decisions to improve their overall quality of life as well as manage lifelong diseases such as diabetes and celiac disease.
“No matter where our guests are in life, Market Street’s Health and Wellness services can guide individuals on a journey to living well,” said Brown. “At Market Street, we pride ourselves in having experts in every department – from our skilled butchers and artisan bakers all the way to our organic health and nutrition professionals and medical staff. Whether you need a cure for the common cold or a remedy against poor eating habits, Market Street’s DFW locations have the steps in place to get you started on the path toward a healthier tomorrow.”
Guests can interact with the Market Street dietitians online by submitting questions to be answered individually by e-mail via Market Street’s Health and Wellness Ask the Expert page. In addition to the Health and Wellness services, Market Street offers a wide selection of both organic and conventional foods to meet every taste, as well as a complete line of natural health and beauty products.
Presently, Market Street has four DFW stores located in Frisco, Allen, McKinney and Colleyville, with the fifth store, Coppell-Lewisville, opening Jan. 14. Market Street Plano, currently under construction at W. Park Blvd. and Preston Road, is tentatively scheduled to open in March 2009.
