SecureKey Demonstrates Digital Identity Solution for Next-Generation Mobile Networks at Mobile World Congress
Enabling Mobile Network Operators to Provide Trusted IDs Across a Broad Range of Devices
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Outlining its participation in the upcoming Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona, Spain, SecureKey, the leading provider of trusted identity networks, today announced it will be demonstrating a digital identity solution mobile network operators can employ to provide trusted digital IDs across a broad range of mobile and other devices and participate in identity federations around the world. The demonstration will be featured in the GSMA Connected City Zone in Hall 3 of the exhibition, and is provided with support from Canadian mobile operators Bell Mobility, Rogers Communications, and TELUS, and consultants The Human Chain. The SecureKey team will also be participating in a panel discussion on “Service Opportunities for Mobile Identity,” and moderating a panel discussion during the Mobile Identity workshop @WIPJam entitled “The role of mobile identity in application development.”

GSMA Connected City Demonstration in Hall 3, Stand 3A11-3A31
SecureKey, together with The Human Chain, will jointly demonstrate how telecoms can create simple, flexible digital identity services using a mobile app incorporating the SecureKey briidge.net™ Connect strong multifactor authentication service. The demonstration uses a mobile app to provide secure access to online services through SecureKey Concierge, a commercial identity brokerage service available in Canada since 2012 using bank IDs. Instead of entering a cumbersome user name and password, the SecureKey-enabled mobile app allows users to log in to these services using their enrolled mobile device and a simple 4-digit passcode.

Any smartphone or tablet running iOS, Android™, or Blackberry can be supported, with or without SIM-based secure elements, providing the greatest coverage of in-market devices, and the fastest ramp to service introduction. Users may enroll any number of personal devices, including smartphones, tablets, and notebook computers into their digital identity service, anchored in their telecom subscriber account through network API’s (in this case provided by EnStream on behalf of Bell, Rogers and TELUS).

SecureKey Concierge is the identity federation component of the demonstration. It is based on SecureKey’s briidge.net Exchange platform, which was selected for the Federated Cloud Credential Exchange (FCCX) to be operated by the United States Postal Service for the US Government’s NSTIC program.

In his presentation, “Accelerating Mobile ID within Identity Federations,” Blumenthal will present his perspective on this important and evolving topic, particularly on the benefits of a federated digital identity model and how such a model can help accelerate consumer adoption while ensuring privacy and security. Following the individual presentations, Blumenthal will participate in the panel discussion.
Didier Serra, SecureKey’s executive vice president of global partnerships, will also be moderating a panel discussion during the Personal Data Workshop on “The Role of Mobile Identity in Application Development,” where solution providers and a mobile network operator representative will explore the role of the mobile ecosystem in supporting identity management. The Personal Data Workshop will take place during the WIP Jam App Developer Conference on Wednesday, February 26.
