Carbon Health Expands Technology-Enabled Primary and Urgent Care in California

Company Launching Over a Dozen Clinics in Q1 2021 to Increase Access to Quality Care in Key Markets Across the State

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Carbon Health, the technology-enabled healthcare provider, announced today that it will open over a dozen new clinics throughout California this month through Q1 2021, bringing the total number of clinics in the state to more than 30. The clinics will plan to offer primary and urgent care for the family, as well as COVID-19 testing and care. This expansion is part of the growth plan outlined in Carbon Health’s recent $100M Series C funding news, and it signals the company’s continued investment in the state as well as its commitment to delivering accessible care across the country in 2021.

Carbon Health, which has been at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic response, has recently launched in Simi Valley and San Marcos, and plans to launch new locations throughout Northern and Southern California, including in and around the San Francisco Bay Area and greater Los Angeles area throughout December 2020 and Q1 2021. The clinics will meet the critical care as well as ongoing health needs in those communities, offering convenient locations in a range of neighborhoods.

The need for high-quality healthcare is especially evident in states like California, where COVID-19 cases have spiked to more than one million, and urgent care per capita still lags far behind the national average,” said Eren Bali, Co-Founder and CEO of Carbon Health. “Our recent funding allows us to further drive our initiative to expand healthcare to everyone, particularly reaching those in both urban and rural healthcare deserts in California.”

The company’s strategy to increase healthcare accessibility includes partnering with and acquiring local/regional practices to help them continue their mission of providing care to the community. One such relationship is Carbon Health Santa Ana in Southern California, formerly known as Coastline Urgent Care.

Dr. Tom Le, owner of Coastline Urgent Care said, “It was a simple decision to partner with Carbon Health. Carbon is a true leader in healthcare innovation and patient-first care delivery. This partnership has enabled my team and me to continue--and even uplevel--the work we’ve done in and for the community. The process and transition to Carbon were seamless; I would recommend it to anyone, and I’m looking forward to continuing to care for community members.”

Launched in 2015, Carbon Health continues to lead healthcare innovation through its patient-focused, evidence-based initiatives and programs including an omnichannel care delivery model of in-person and virtual primary and urgent care, pop-up clinics, the COVID Positive recovery program for patients who have tested positive for coronavirus, and the COVID Ready program for businesses to operate safely throughout the pandemic. Its modern clinics and unique technology platform were designed from the ground up to improve patient experience and clinical outcomes by completely reimagining the clinical workflow, allowing providers to focus on patients. It currently has more than 30 primary and urgent care clinics in six states, and it provides virtual care in 16 states covering two-thirds of the country. The company plans to grow to 1,500 locations across the U.S. by 2025.
