Innography Debuts Industry-First Capabilities in Patent Search and Analysis Platform

Advanced Analysis Now Combines Internal and Public Data for Complete View of Intellectual Property Landscape

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Innography today announced the latest update to its Advanced Analysis solution for patent professionals and business users that increases the accuracy and integrity of IP-based analysis and decision-making. Innography’s Fall Release also represents a major step forward in CPA Global’s strategic mission to integrate all the steps along the innovation lifecycle throughout the technology suite.

A key component of the release is PortfolioIQ, a new feature of Advanced Analysis that combines private company information with public patent data to help customers answer more sophisticated IP questions and conduct more complete analyses.

“While the concept of custom fields is not new for IP analysis software, our approach to the problem is much more effective for customers,” said Tyron Stading, founder and president of Innography. “Offering the fields themselves doesn't solve the root problem, which is messy underlying data, resulting in data that can’t be combined, and a disjointed understanding of IP across an organization. Our customers require a quick and effective matching mechanism that merges private internal information with publicly available patent data, which PortfolioIQ accomplishes.”

Additional features of PortfolioIQ include:

  • Customizable fields – allow clients to capture important internal information, organize and visualize it according to specific business needs.
  • Strong security – partitions each customer’s private data into a dedicated database within its own virtual network behind at least two firewalls; all data is encrypted at rest and in transit and is protected through role-based access controls.
  • Turn-key bulk upload service – uses Innography’s proprietary algorithms to automate data cleansing and matching, and can include regular data refreshes if desired.

“The Innography philosophy is to maximize both the value of each user’s time and the value of the answers and decisions derived from IP analysis,” said John F. Martin, CEO of Innography. “By combining customers’ private portfolio data, new analytics, algorithms and data, and even better data accuracy such as inventor name fixes, Innography's newest release continues to push the envelope of innovation and value.”

Additional updates to Innography’s Advanced Analysis solution include:

  • IP Benchmark Cost Data – leverages integration with CPA Global’s IP Forecaster to help IP professionals intelligently estimate the cost of patent filing and maintenance across jurisdictions and compare spending trends to their top competitors.
  • Enhanced Public PAIR metrics – help users quickly compare examiner, art unit and prosecution stage for a specific patent through predictive charts to establish benchmarks and determine the effect of specific actions to improve grant likelihood.
  • Inventor Normalizations – extends Innography’s market-leading normalization algorithms, profile rollups and machine learning to inventor profiles, resulting in highly accurate employment histories for inventors (ex: Innography founder Tyron Stading has 26 different spelling variations in the patent records, all of which are corrected by Innography’s new inventor normalizations).
  • Enhanced Analysis – features a new company page with additional analyses of an organization’s portfolio and financials; increased alerting flexibility that includes auto-updating of project data sets; user-defined terminology for text cluster analysis; and single-click citation analysis of an entire company’s portfolio.
  • Terminal Disclaimers – the feature most highly requested at this year’s Insights conference and suggested by Kodak, terminal disclaimers finds and highlights US patents impacted by terminal disclaimers, enabling companies to minimize potential errors in portfolio management.
