BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Symetra Life Insurance Company announced that Fortune® magazine and Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture, have recognized Symetra as one of the 2023 Best Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance™. Symetra was among the top 50 organizations in the best large workplaces category.
Great Place To Work surveyed companies employing 7.5 million people in the U.S. and received 1.3 million survey responses. Of those, over 191,000 responses were received from employees at companies who were eligible for the 2023 Fortune Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance list. The survey enables employees to share confidential quantitative and qualitative feedback about their organization’s culture by responding to 60 statements on a five-point scale and answering two open-ended questions.
Ninety-three percent of Symetra’s surveyed employees say it is a great place to work compared to 57 percent of employees at a typical U.S.-based company, while 96 percent said you are made to feel welcome when you join the company and 95 percent feel good about the ways the company contributes to the community.
“We are very proud to be recognized as a Fortune Best Workplace in Financial Services and Insurance, which reflects the feedback from our people as well as our broader industry community,” said Anne-Marie Diouf, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “Our Symetra Empowers vision to create a world where more people have access to financial freedom is brought to life every day by the dedication and commitment of our remarkable team. We’ve prioritized being an employer of choice because to be successful and achieve our vision means creating an inclusive workplace where our people can thrive—and this recognition is a tremendous validation of the culture we’re building.”
According to the Fortune methodology, “The best companies create great work experiences not just for full-time managers, but also for their part-time employees on the front lines, for those who’ve just joined and those who’ve spent their whole career there, for every race and ethnicity, gender, neurotype, or other demographic in the organization—they look at it all. Companies with the broadest set of employees who report positive workplace experience receive the highest rankings on lists.”
Symetra’s recent workplace awards and recognition include Great Place to Work Certification (2022, 2023), Forbes America’s Best Mid-Size Employers (2023), Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Women™ (2022), Forbes America’s Best-In-State Employers Washington (2021, 2022).
