STAMFORD, Conn.--()--Spire Orthopedic Partners (Spire), a management services organization supporting industry-leading orthopedic and spine surgeons, has added three new executives to its C-Suite: Steve Xenos as Chief Information Officer, John Fernandez as Chief Revenue Cycle Officer and Matthew Karp as Vice President of Business Development.

“Spire has been experiencing rapid and exponential growth, and these new leaders are reflective of that robust development,” said Chris Fusco, CEO of Spire. “Steve, John, and Matthew will catapult our expansion and advance our organizational efficiency, allowing our physicians and their practices to thrive through this changing healthcare landscape.”

Xenos is a seasoned technology executive, bringing over 30 years of experience implementing bold, transformative IT initiatives. Previously, he spent five years serving as the first CIO for PM Pediatrics, the largest pediatric specialty urgent care practice in the United States, where he built a new IT organization to support rapid growth. Xenos brings a breadth of experience and a deep understanding of mergers and acquisitions, clinical information systems and aligning IT goals with larger organizational strategic plans.

“Information Technology plays a crucial and growing role in enabling physician-led providers to thrive in an increasingly complex healthcare landscape,” said Xenos. “I’m looking forward to leveraging my expertise in support of our partner practices to help our skilled physicians and care teams deliver the best outcomes possible for the increasing number of patients within our reach.”

Fernandez brings to Spire a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing large revenue cycle operations. Prior to joining Spire, Fernandez worked for Axia Health, a women’s healthcare provider with 400 physicians and 200 locations. Additionally, he has held roles at various healthcare entities throughout his career, such as ProHealth Care, IKS Health and Northwell Health.

“It’s an honor to have joined the Spire team at such an exciting time of growth and momentum,” said Fernandez. “The Spire network has seen substantial and impressive growth since its launch in 2021, and I look forward to working closely with our leadership and practice teams to expand Spire’s footprint and shape the future of orthopedic medicine.”

Karp’s extensive knowledge of organizational growth and development includes more than a decade of experience in healthcare mergers and acquisitions, valuation and strategic advisory. Prior to joining Spire, Karp was a Director in Raymond James’ Healthcare Finance Group, supplying outstanding investment banking services to healthcare services organizations.

“I look forward to helping accelerate our business development efforts in high-need markets,” said Karp. “Supporting Spire’s already exceptional teams in meeting our financial goals will in turn create opportunity for more physician leaders and patients to benefit from Spire’s approach.”
