“I feel fortunate to be joining BIOQuébec, a Quebec association recognized as a true leader in its field, and I thank the members of the Board of Directors for their trust. This is a homecoming for me since I began my career in the biotechnology and life sciences sector. Quebec has a rich life sciences ecosystem, and the pandemic served to highlight the importance of having a strong value chain in this vital sector. I am thrilled to be involved in tackling this industry’s pivotal issues and to collaborate with all of BIOQuébec’s members and partners,” stated Emmanuelle Toussaint.
With Ms. Toussaint at its helm, BIOQuébec will continue to represent and support its members, namely biotechnology and life sciences companies, by speaking with government representatives on their behalf, fostering business development, and being a credible source of information for the community. BIOQuébec will address important issues in the coming months, such as the integration of innovations in the health system, access to data to facilitate medical research, the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board reforms, and the development of a coherent and concerted Canadian innovation strategy.
“BIOQuébec is proud to contribute to the development of Quebec’s life sciences industry, a dynamic sector that creates wealth, skilled jobs, and innovations and aims to improve Quebecers’ health and quality of life. I would also like to thank Anie Perrault, who served as BIOQuébec’s Executive Director for the past few years and who did an outstanding job,” added Frédéric Leduc.
