SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--iGenomeDx Inc., the molecular diagnostic laboratory that works to use DNA to match individuals to specific medications, won this year’s San Antonio District SBA Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year. The San Antonio District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Texas South-West Small Business Development Center (SBDC) announced the award earlier this spring and honored Small Business Week winners early in May.
iGenomeDx was established in 2016 by Dr. Niti Vanee and Dr. Pramod Mishra having a research background in Genomics and Microbiology and Immunology respectively with a goal to serve the community using their scientific training and expertise.
iGenomeDx offers DNA-based pharmacogenomic tests to guide physicians to the most effective medication among the choices available based on an individual’s genetic makeup, effectively personalizing medicine. Such technology will help avoid trial and error, reduce hospitalizations due to adverse drug reactions, and reduce the cost of healthcare.

iGenomeDx continuously expanding its scope of providing cutting-edge testing to the community. iGenomeDx has already shown its chops. During the Covid-19 pandemic, in March 2020 it was the second private-sector laboratory in Texas listed on the FDA website as a testing laboratory for the presence of the virus. The company plans to expand into next-generation sequencing-based testing including cancer pharmacogenomics.
