Matthew Siegal Goodworx Foundation Creates “Back on Their Feet” Fund to Aid Families and Individuals in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia

Private charitable foundation will provide cash grants of up to $10,000 per individual/family experiencing a temporary financial crisis

NORTH BETHESDA, Md.--()--Matthew Siegal GoodworxTM Foundation, a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) charitable organization, today announced the creation of a fund that will focus exclusively on alleviating acute financial distress experienced by individuals and families. The Back on Their Feet FundTM is being launched with an initial endowment of $100,000 from the foundation’s founder and chairman, tech entrepreneur and investor Matthew Siegal.

Grants of up to $10,000 will be made to individuals and families in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia who are experiencing a short-term financial crisis that can be fully resolved with a one-time cash grant. Examples include victims of natural disasters, crime and temporary illness. Grant requests will be accepted from recognized charitable organizations in good standing that are applying on behalf of individual clients. The Foundation will begin accepting applications on its website on February 1, 2022.

“Our goal is to help people get back on their feet following uninvited misfortune, and the global pandemic has brought an unprecedented amount of hardship over the past two years,” said Matthew Siegal, chairman of Matthew Siegal Goodworx Foundation. “The world is filled with wonderful charities that focus on finding long-term solutions to complex, chronic problems, but few are dedicated to relieving acute suffering through direct giving to individuals.”

Siegal is the founder, lead investor and CEO of Transformania Inc., a SaaS startup that is preparing to launch a complete data quality solution that maximizes the ROI of any customer relationship management (CRM) system. He has served on the management teams of privately held and publicly traded companies, and currently serves on the board of directors of Curbio Inc., a venture-funded property technology company that he co-founded in 2017 and which performs pre-sale home renovations in more than two dozen markets from coast-to-coast.

While a student at the University of Maryland, Siegal co-founded two software companies that were acquired by Vocus, Inc., a NASDAQ-traded SaaS pioneer. He served as president and CEO of Public Affairs Technologies, Inc. from 1992 to 2003, and on the management team of Vocus, Inc. from 2003 to 2008. He also launched and served as CEO of Dr. Siegal’s Direct Nutritionals, an international dietary products manufacturer and retailer that operated 10 retail locations in the U.S. and Canada and sold its proprietary products through 12,000+ retailers including GNC, Sam’s Club, and Costco. He sold the company in 2016.
