Hologic Closes on Acquisition of Bolder Surgical

MARLBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hologic, Inc. (Nasdaq: HOLX), a global leader in women's health, has completed its previously announced acquisition of Bolder Surgical, a privately held, U.S.-based company that provides advanced energy vessel sealing surgical devices.

"The acquisition of Bolder Surgical will expand Hologic's growing laparoscopic portfolio and underscores our commitment to women's health," said Essex Mitchell, Hologic's Division President, Surgical. "We will better serve our existing physician base with Bolder's minimally invasive treatments and advanced vessel sealing technology."

The transaction adds laparoscopic vessel sealing, dividing, and dissecting devices to the Hologic Surgical portfolio, and will also enable Hologic to expand the use of Bolder's devices to OB/GYN specialists. All Bolder devices including the CoolSeal® Vessel Sealing Suite, JustRight® 3 mm vessel sealer and JustRight® 5 mm stapler, will immediately join the Hologic Surgical portfolio.
