Banorte and Republic Bank Have The Recipe For Strong Corporate Governance Success In Ethical Boardroom Awards

LONDON--()--Grupo Financiero Banorte (Banorte), the largest Mexican financial institution, and leading Caribbean organisation Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) are recognised for their corporate governance standards in this year’s Ethical Boardroom Awards.

Every year, Ethical Boardroom Magazine - the bi-monthly digital magazine that delivers in-depth coverage and critically astute analysis of global governance issues - recognises the world’s leading corporate governance champions across their industry sectors.

Like all publicly listed companies or state-owned enterprises finalists in the Awards, Banorte and RFHL underwent a thorough analysis of governance factors with extensive scrutiny on governance attributes, such as board composition, board committees, shareholder rights and transparency.

Ethical Boardroom’s Head of Awards, Henry Smart, said: “Banorte has worked hard to adopt new policies aimed at regulating operations and providing greater transparency to the market. Leadership within Banorte has been an important catalyst in corporate governance matters. Carlos Hank-González, chairman of the board of directors, and Marcos Ramírez, chief executive officer, share a vision of adopting best practices as a symbol of transparency and efficient management. They lead the way in the process of not only knowing and attending to market tendencies in this matter, but also transforming and adapting the group to the best international practices.”

“While Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) firmly believes in investing in tomorrow and has taken a leadership role in the Caribbean in working towards creating a greener and more sustainable region with a commitment to global sustainability networks. RFHL has taken the bold step of advancing the fight against climate change to help secure the future of the planet and the generations to come.”

Banorte joins other companies in Latin America, North America and the Caribbean, including Royal Bank of Canada, Natura & Co S.A., Chesapeake Utilities Corporation and The Walt Disney Co, in this year’s list of outstanding companies across industries including manufacturing, banking and utilities.
