Mednow Establishes Proprietary Telemedicine Service

  • Mednow Virtual Care to launch in Ontario in Q2 2021

TORONTO--()--Mednow Inc. (“Mednow” or the “Company”) (TSXV:MNOW), Canada’s on-demand virtual pharmacy, is pleased to announce the Company has formed Mednow Virtual Care Ltd. (“Mednow Virtual Care”) to provide its proprietary telemedicine service, allowing Mednow to offer its patients integrated access to doctors. Mednow Virtual Care is expected to launch its services in Ontario in the second quarter of 2021.

Mednow Virtual Care will be owned 70% by Mednow, with 15% to be each owned by companies wholly-owned, respectively, by Mr. Christopher Fisher and Dr. Karim Vellani. Both Mr. Fisher and Dr. Vellani are currently advisors to Mednow.

Mr. Fisher is the President & CEO of Ontario Partners in Health (OPiH). Dr. Vellani is a licensed physician practicing at St. Michael’s Hospital, a lecturer at the University of Toronto and is the founder of a physician home visit and virtual care company operating in Ontario. Mr. Fisher and Dr. Vellani will be integral to the recruitment of medical professionals and growth of the Mednow.ca platform.

About Dr. Karim Vellani

He has also served as an advisor and consultant to a number of successful digital health start-ups and electronic medical record vendors in Canada.
