CDR Names L3Harris Canada’s Top Defence Company For 2021

MARKHAM, Ontario--()--Leading defence and military magazine, CANADIAN DEFENCE REVIEW, has just released its annual Survey & Ranking of Canada’s Top Defence Companies.

For 2021, CDR has named L3Harris Technologies Canada, its Top Defence Company and it’s their third time at the #1 spot over the 17 years the survey has been published.

This year, CDR has expanded its ranking to include 100 companies, an indication of the growth and strength of Canada’s defence and aerospace sector, even as the pandemic has imposed restraints on the industry.

In commenting on the #1 ranking, company spokesperson Rich Foster said, “Our success is based on the efforts and talent of our 2,800 dedicated Canadian employees who make it their mission to provide the Canadian Forces, RCMP, Coast Guard and other Defence and Security teams with innovative technologies and solutions to support their most complex mission requirements.”

Foster added, “This recognition by CDR is also a credit to the many Canadian suppliers and partners we work with on a daily basis, across Canada. We look forward to providing another 60 years of quality high-tech jobs, innovation, and growth in Canada’s Defence and Security sector.”

CDR Editor-in-Chief, Peter Kitchen, commented, “What we like about L3Harris’ operations in this country is that their technology is home-grown and additionally they are global leaders in their respective categories.”

He added, “In fact, we’d like to see other Canadian defence and aerospace companies match L3Harris’ dedication to R&D and organic growth and with the L3Harris merger we expect this company to do even bigger things in the months ahead. L3Harris is a very worthy recipient of the #1 rank for 2021.”

An evaluation panel consisting of CDR editorial staff and independent advisors ranked the companies based on factors such as economic impact, innovation, contribution to the nation's security, corporate integrity and support for Canada’s military. And, this year, we factored in how the companies handled the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the publication of its annual Top 100 Defence Companies Survey & Ranking, CDR’s goal is to showcase Canada’s defence industry and all that it has to offer. CDR is proud to be part of an industry that has been front and center on the COVID-19 battlefield.
